Wedding Emergency Kits

At some point during your wedding planning process or even before that, you may have heard someone mention a wedding emergency kit. What is it you may ask? It is your go to kit on your wedding day. Need a piece of gum, have a headache, someone has a hole in their outfit? This where you would go to find all that.

Why is it important to have a wedding emergency kit? It gives you peace of mind on your wedding day. Your wedding day will be a long day and you will be talking with a lot of people so you will want to make sure you always have fresh breath. That is where the gum and mints come in handy. What if one of the groomsmen pants catch in something? That sewing kit will be a great tool for a quick fix.

If you don't have a wedding planner for your wedding day, I highly recommend grabbing the below items for your wedding day emergency kit. Majority of these can be found at your local dollar store.

  • Mints & Gum

  • Lighter

  • Sewing kit

  • Tylenol and Advil

  • Scissors

  • Extra Makeup

  • Wipes

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Kleenex

  • Hair pins

If you have hired a wedding planner, their emergency kit will be more extensive. I have two parts to my emergency kit that I carry with me on my clients wedding day. A large part of my kit is kept in carry on bag on wheels. In this part of my kit is where I keep my steamer to help get out those creases that may have appeared during transportation. Other items include extra lighters, tea lights, zip ties, twist ties, extra wipes and kleenex, makeup samples for all different skin tones, different colours and textures of ribbon. The other part of my emergency kit is my backpack. In my backpack, I keep all my go-to items that are the most frequently used such as wet wipes, kleenex, gum, mints, Tylenol, Advil, lint brush, lighter, pens, sewing kit and hand sanitizer.

Why is it important to ensure your wedding planner has an emergency kit? Let me tell you a few stories where I had to use a few items in my kit. One of my first weddings one of the groomsmen came to me needing my sewing kit. The problem was fixed and the groomsmen was able to continue dancing the night away. I was very thankful to have different style ribbons in my kit. Thanks to the ribbon, I was able to help my client by creating a tossing bouquet by pulling some flowers from a few of the centerpieces and other settings from the bar. The steamer has come in handy for styled shoots. Lighters are huge. I go through several each year. Your venue may say they can light all the candles but sometimes they get busy and if you have a lot of candles, it is always better to have several people lighting candles if possible.

I hope you have found this to be a helpful tool with your wedding planning process. If you are looking for help with your wedding, book your complimentary discovery call today.
