The Benefits of Having A Wedding Website
What's the point of a wedding website?
Wedding Websites have become quite popular, especially in the last few years during the pandemic. They are a great way to keep your guests informed of important wedding information and any changes that may have come up since invitations were sent out. Wedding websites have been a trend I have seen grow over the years, especially with several of my clients. These couples have used their wedding website as a way to share accommodation and transportation information with guests as well as cost savings with stationery.
My favourite wedding website as a planner
My favourite wedding website so far has been With Joy. It is user-friendly with many amazing features, and the support desk is always helpful. I currently have four couples using With Joy; each time, they have made me an administrator. By making your wedding planner an administrator, they can log in and keep track of things. Your planner can go in and see the RSVPs and let the venue/caterers know of updates as due dates come up. As the administrator, your planner can let you know which guests still need to respond and help manage the website.
5 Benefits of Making A Wedding Website
1. Cost Benefits
Wedding invitations can vary in price depending on the style and paper you choose. For example, invitation suites in the Toronto region can start at $6 and go up from there.
Nowadays, you can find many websites, including Wedding Wire or With Joy, that are perfect for tracking your RSVPs and guests' meal choices. In addition, some programs allow you to not only build your wedding website but send out e-invites at no cost. This is great for couples who want to avoid sending out save-the-dates and invitations in the mail.
2. Eco Benefits
If you want an eco-friendly wedding, having a website is the way to go! There are eco-friendly paper options, such as plant-based paper, but those are a higher cost, whereas your website is not. There is also an app available with the wedding website With Joy, which makes the website nice and accessible to all.
3. RSVP Management
Wedding websites are a fast and live way of keeping track of all your RSVPs. You can import your guest list and then group people based on household, plus 1's, etc. With live tracking, you can track who has responded and who has not. Later, you can export your guest list for easy reference to give to your venue/caterer. The guest list will include their names, table number, meal choices and any allergies the guests may have.
On With Joy, you can easily send out reminders to any guests that have yet to respond to the wedding invite or might have missed letting you know their meal choice if that information is required for the venue.
4. Communication benefits with guests
Let's say you have booked a room block at a nearby hotel or will now be offering your guests transportation to a few areas. Instead of letting your guests know individually by calling or emailing them, you can update your wedding website immediately and even send out a blast to your guest list.
If guests have questions, they can ask you questions when they RSVP, and you can respond quickly via the website. The website comes with standard questions for your to put on your website, but you can also change the questions based on your needs to share information.
5. A Cohesive Design
One of my favourite things about a wedding website is you can create a cohesive design from your website to your invitations and even the day of stationery.
There are many styles and designs to choose from; chances are you will find something that ties in nicely with your wedding design. You can also upload a custom design if you or someone you know has created one. The design you use on your website can easily carry over to your save-the-dates and invitations; this way, everything is seamless and looks cohesive. You can update and change photos on your website. I love it when my couples include their engagement photos.
There truly is no going wrong with having a wedding website, from the cohesive design to the ease of communication with your guests. I strongly encourage all of my couples to have a wedding website and am happy to answer any questions you may have about where to begin!
